For your search to be successful you must enter your details exactly as they appear on the electoral roll. If you are unable to verify your enrolment you may have entered your details incorrectly.

Please note:
** the form is not case sensitive and text may be entered in upper, lower or mixed case.
** if you have recently sent your enrolment form to the AEC, please allow a few days for the AEC to receive your form, process it and update the electoral roll. You can also check your enrolment by contacting the AEC.
** if you have enrolled as a silent elector you will not be able to check your enrolment details online please contact the AEC.

Given name/s :
You are required to enter your name exactly as it appears on the electoral roll for example Michael John.

Additional tips:
** the given name/s field cannot be left blank. If you are registered on the electoral roll without a given name, please contact the AEC to confirm your enrolment.
** there can be confusion between family name and given name/s. If you think this is likely then try reversing your family name and given name/s.
** if you have changed your given name then try your former given name.
** you can enter your given name/s using a maximum of 25 characters including spaces. If all of your names do not fit then only enter those names that do fit. You can also try entering the initial of the name you have omitted.
for example if your given name is “Gerald Samson Michael Warren”, you could try “Gerald Samson Michael” or “Gerald Samson Michael W”.
** if you use both the English version of your given name and the non-English version of your given name interchangeably, try using either name.
for example if your given name is “Giuseppe” then try “Joseph”.

Family name :
** You are requred to enter your family name into this field. Family name refers to your surname or last name.
** There can be confusion between family name and given name/s.
** If you think that this is likely then try reversing your family name and given name/s when entering your details into the form.
** If you have changed your family name, try entering your former name.

Postcode :
** You are required to enter a postcode in this field as it is used to determine your correct suburb or locality.
** You can check your postcode by using the find my electorate search.

Suburb or locality :
** Once you enter your postcode a dropdown list will appear, and you must select the appropriate suburb or locality.
** If you select the incorrect suburb or locality you will be unable to confirm your enrolment.
** For example, your locality could be West Tamworth instead of Tamworth.
** If you believe that the dropdown list has not presented you with the correct suburb or locality, please contact the AEC.

Street name :
Once you have selected your suburb or locality, as you type in your street name a dropdown list will appear for you to select your street from.

Additional tips :
** the street name field can be left blank if that is how you are registered on the roll.

Verification code :
** To submit this form you will need to enter the verification code displayed on the screen.
** The code consists of distorted text.
** You should enter it in this field as standard keyboard characters.
** The code is not case sensitive.
** If you can’t read the code supplied there is a reload button next to it which will generate a different code.
** There is also a speaker button which will read the code to you.
** For this you will need speakers or headphones.
** The AEC uses the code to ensure that people rather than computers are completing this form.
** This stops the AEC receiving large numbers of spam forms which would seriously impede our ability to process genuine requests.
** This type of verification code is often referred to as a CAPTCHA, which is an acronym for Completely Austomated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart.
