Electoral Roll :
When you enrol to vote, your name and address is added to the ‘electoral roll’. This is a list of people eligible to vote in an election.
An electronic copy of the Queensland electoral roll is available for inspection at our office :

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
The electoral roll is available for public inspection for the following reasons :
** checking your own enrolment details, or
** making an objection to the enrolment of another elector.
You can inspect an electronic copy of the Commonwealth electoral roll at the Australian Electoral Commission. You may not copy, record or photograph any information from the electoral roll with any electronic device.
Enrolment Information :
In Queensland it is compulsory for all eligible people to enrol and vote in Federal, State and Local Government elections.
Who can enrol? :
You are eligible to enrol to vote if :
** You have turned 16 (although you will not be able to vote until you are 18)
** You are an Australian citizen or a British Subject*
** You have lived at your address for at least 1 month
* British subjects, who are not Australian citizens, are eligible to enrol for Federal, State and Local Government elections if they were on a Commonwealth of Australia electoral roll on 25 January 1984. Any other person who was eligible for the Queensland State electoral roll on 31 December 1991 is only eligible to enrol for Queensland State and Local Government elections.
How to enrol? :
You can enrol online or you can complete and return an enrolment form to us. This form will update your details for Federal, State and Local Government elections.
Enrolment forms are also available at any :
** Australian Electoral Commission office,
** Australia Post outlet, or
** Medicare or Centrelink service centre.
Once processed, the Australian Electoral Commission will notify you by mail. If you have not received written correspondence within 3 weeks, you should contact the Australian Electoral Commission.
How to check or change enrolment details? :
It is important to keep your enrolment details up-to-date. If you move house or change your name, you need to complete a new enrolment form. You can change or update your details online or you can complete a new enrolment form. You can check your enrolment details online to see if your enrolment information is current and correct. You can also view the Federal, State and Local Government areas you are enrolled for.
