** Entitled “KEBS: Know Elections Better, Superfriends”, the lecture aims to demystify the process of elections and advocate for an intelligent vote. It is primarily directed at senior high school students who are eligible to register for the SK elections.
** “Voters as young as 15 years old should be taught the value of democracy. This lecture is an opportunity for us to urge them to register so they can exercise their right to vote,” Spokesperson James Jimenez said.
** Voter registration for the October 23, 2017 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections is set to end on April 29. But so far there are only 193,229 SK registrants out of the total number of applications received in November and December 2016 nationwide, except Cotabato City and Isabela City.
Based on statistics from the Election and Barangay Affairs Department (EBAD), there were 816,591 applications received during that period.
** Interested parties may request for a lecture by contacting the Department through its telephone number 525-9294 or official Facebook and Twitter accounts, or by sending an email to comelectv [AT] gmail.com
